MIGHTY MEN NEW ZEALAND

Raising Godly men through Worship, Discipleship and Leadership

About Mighty Men New Zealand

We are a non-denominational Christian community of men dedicated to growing in faith, character, and leadership while supporting each other through life's challenges.

Service

Empowering men to serve their families, churches, and communities with Christ-like love.

"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

— Mark 10:45

Discipleship

Growing together in knowledge and application of God's Word in our daily lives through discipleship. Helping men grow in effective evangelism, bible study, personal prayer life and fasting habits.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

— Matthew 28:19-20

Brotherhood

A place where men can find authentic friendship, accountability, and support in their walk with Christ.

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!"

— Psalm 133:1

Our Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To inspire and equip men to be faithful followers of Christ, God-fearing leaders in their homes, and positive influences in their communities.

Our Vision

A New Zealand where men are transformed by the Gospel, families are strengthened through biblical leadership, and communities are impacted by the love of Christ working through the servant hearts of men.

Our Values

  • Biblical Truth: Grounding all we do in the Word of God

  • Servant Leadership: Leading by example as Christ led

  • Accountability: Encouraging one another toward Christ-like character

  • Prayer: Depending on God in all things

— 1 Timothy 6:11-12

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another."

— Hebrews 10:24-25

"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love."

— 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

MALACHI 4:6

Mighty men

Origins

South African farmer Angus Buchan began the first Mighty Men Conference in 2004, with reports of attendees varying from a few dozen to 240. The number of attendees grew rapidly, with numbers reportedly rising to 600 in 2005 to 1060 in 2006, 7,400 in 2007 and 60,000 in 2008. The final national event in 2010 was attended by up to 300,000 men and boys.

New Zealand

Having attended the Mighty men conferences in South Africa, and inspired by the vision and impact of the movement, Werner Gerber founded Mighty Men New Zealand in 2018. The first NZ conference was held in 2022 with about 20 attendees. Due to the massive positive impact this has had on men's lives, this movement is growing and currently has over 300 members in NZ.

What we believe

  • The Bible to be the inspired, the infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • In the Eternal Triune God.
  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  • That for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  • In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  • In the creation, test and fall of man, as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness apart from God.
  • In the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, very God and very Man.
  • In the Spiritual Unity of Believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
